Loyalty Pays Off
By: Guest Blogger Todd Fassnacht
This is is a continuation of the Marley…twice in one day… amazing!
By My 22 year old daughter was having a tough time getting around in the snow and Ice with her car, so she wanted to get some “snow” tires, not all weather, but snow. I told to take her care over to the place that I have always gone, her comment was that we should shop around, well I for one didn’t have the time and in reality neither did she. She went to my place and ended up paying $ 140.00 for each tire (4) plus installation and taxes. Because they are a “low profile” wider tire they were a little pricey, but the company will store her summer tires for no charge and switch them out for free next fall, so maybe not “shopping around” has its benefits. Well that was one week ago, this morning she calls me and says that she has a flat tire and thinks it was from hitting a pot hole the day before, after the tire is changed I told just to go down to the tire place and get a new one, well there is no warranty on snow tires so we just figured she would be out $140.00 plus labor and taxes except for one thing, my tire shop decided to call his tire distributor and told him he needed to do something for this (me) loyal customer, well they cut the tire into thirds, one third for the distributor, one third for my repair shop, and one third for us plus no labor to change it out – so final cost was $46.00 out the door even though it was not their error or mistake and I never asked for a favor or expected it! WOW!
Two in one day. Moral of the stories…loyalty pays off! Don’t be so quick to judge price today as you can’t possibly know what your patronage will pay in future dividends.
